Types of concrete components in a building

Different types of precast products serve a wide range of applications, with their function varying based on the shape, size, and grade of concrete used. These concrete components are increasingly utilized in construction projects where consistency and quality control are essential.

Precast Columns
Vertical structural elements that support beams, girders, and slabs, transferring loads to the foundation. Columns can be square, rectangular, or circular.

Precast Walls:
  • Load-Bearing Walls: Structural walls that carry loads from the floors and roof above.
  • Non-Load-Bearing Walls: Partition walls that divide spaces but do not carry structural loads.
  • Shear Walls: Provide lateral stability, resisting wind and earthquake forces.
  • Architectural Cladding Panels: Decorative, non-load-bearing panels used for the exterior facade of buildings.

Hollow core slabs
Precast, prestressed concrete elements that are widely used in the construction of floors and roofs in buildings. They are characterized by continuous hollow cores or voids running through the length of each slab. These voids reduce the weight of the slab without significantly compromising its strength, making hollow core slabs an efficient and economical solution for many construction projects.

Filigree slabes
The Filigree slabs is a modern solution most often used in multi-family, office and public buildings, and is also gaining considerable popularity in single-family construction.

Precast Beams and Girders
  • Beams: Horizontal structural elements that support loads from floors, roofs, or walls. They transfer these loads to columns or load-bearing walls.
  • Girders: Larger beams that support other beams or floor slabs, often used in bridges or large building structures.

Precast Modular Units
Entire rooms or sections of buildings that are precast as modules and assembled on-site. Common in hotels, hospitals, and residential buildings.
