What is 2D in 3D?
Nowadays, 2D drawings are the main detailed design documentation during construction and operation of the facility. But it is noticeable that transformation of 2D drawings into informational 3D models is gaining more and more popularity.

Key differences between 2D drawings and BIM models are:
the elements of a 3D model are volumetric and information-filled unity for all participants in design and construction, allowing it to remain consistent and coordinated at all stages of object’s life cycle.
What problems are solved by having a 3D model?

Initial data requirements for CAD to BIM Model creation
BIM model transmission format after its development (rvt, ifc, nwc, step, etc.)
LOD and LOI requirements for BIM models. Company standards
Compliance with the required level of detail (LOD) in the source files (drawings must be of high quality to develop a model with a high LOD level)
Provision of all the necessary information by the Customer in the form of CAD files/PDF drawings/drawings in paper format, images
